Oozing confidence: Nigella Lawson showed off her new slim figure at the Alexandra Shulman book launch in London last night
The saying goes if you've got it, flaunt it, and it seems Nigella Lawson is doing just that.
The 52-year-old star showed off her new slimmed-down figure in a tight black dress as she arrived at the Alexandra Sculman book launch last night.
Lawson has gone from a size 16 to a size 12 in the past six months and it's clear to see that she's proud of the results.
The brunette highlighted her enviable curves and her bust in the midi-length garment and teamed it with a pair of fishnet tights.
She completed her look with a pair of simple black heels and brightened things up by carrying a red clutch bag.
Now and then: The TV chef has gone from a size 16 to a size 12 in the past six months
As Lawson arrived at auction house Sotheby's in London, she was more than happy to pose for photographers before heading inside.
It was a far cry from Lawson's lack of confidence last year when she appeared on Bondi beach in Australia covered up in a burkini – a full-body swimsuit designed to preserve the modesty of Muslim women.
Look at me! The 52-year-old highlighted her slimmer figure by wearing a tight-fitting black dress
It was also around this time that the TV chef admitted she didn't want to lose weight as she feared she would 'age ten years straightaway,'
Lawson insisted that she was happy with what she sees in the mirror, despite previously describing herself as being ‘built like a shot-putter’.
‘Of course, I have moments of doubt. All women have times thinking, “My God, I can’t go out, my hips are so big today!”' she said.
Not always so confident: The brunette was spotted wearing a 'burkini' on Bondi Beach in Australia last year
‘But there’s a range we are comfortable within and I don’t like it when I go above that.
‘I’ve got no desire to go below it. If I lost 40lb, I would age ten years straightaway. That’s my excuse!'
Like a yo-yo: The star's weight does fluctuate as she was slimmer in both 2009 (L) and 2011
But clearly the mother-of-two's views have changed slightly after she lost three stone since late last year.
But unlike her husband, Charles Saatchi, who lost four stone on an extreme regime of nine eggs a day, Lawson is said to have shunned diets in favour of exercise, including agility training with Pilates and yoga.
Always happy: Lawson once described herself as 'built like a shot-putter'
